ECOPAK™ SERIES FABRIC FROM CHALLENGE OUTDOOR

With DNA from the cutting-edge world of sailcloth technology, comes Challenge Outdoor Fabrics. Some of the newest fabrics we've incorporated into our gear, ECOPAK is lightweight, eco-friendly, waterproof, and incredibly durable. Made from 100-percent recycled polyester components, its unique blend of attributes makes it incredibly well-suited for use in premium backpacks.

  • Contains no harmful TPU, PVC, DWR or other coatings
  • Contains no Volatile Organic Compounds to pollute the land, sea or air
  • Certified recycled  

YKK® AQUAGUARD® & RC COIL ZIPPERS

The need to embed durability and reliability into every facet of Remote Equipment bags extends to our usage of components from YKK Zippers.  Our packs are equipped with YKK AquaGuard zippers, the preeminent water-repellent zipper used in the outdoor industry, and RC Coil Zippers specifically designed for luggage/backpack applications where abrasion resistance is a must. All of our zippers meet the toughest performance requirements.

HARDWARE

For all our packs, we use trusted names in hardware including ITW, Duraflex, Woojin and NIFCO. Each of these suppliers have specific internal engineering and testing practices to ensure their hardware will perform in range of temperatures and are fatigue tested to make sure each part can handle its intended load.

NYLON WEBBING

We use nylon webbing weave style MIL-W-17337. These webbings are able to resist abrasion greater than a similar polypropylene equivalent. We also find this webbing works excellently with our buckles and locks.

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS

For specific applications, we use UHMWPE fibers. The lightest and strongest fibers commercially available, they have a tensile strength 15 times stronger than steel. This reinforcement increases abrasion resistance, tear, and tensile strength that create a robust and lightweight fabric.
